Ariana Grande Launches Countdown To New Album With 'Positions' Teaser

Ariana Grande has seemingly announced the name of her new single.

Last night, Grande shared a mysterious Instagram post showing her typing several letters on a keyboard. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice the “7 Rings” singer spelled out the word “positions.”

Moments later, the superstar took to her Instagram Stories with a countdown for “Positions” along with two dates — one coming at midnight this Friday (October 23) and another coming on October 30. From what fans have speculated, it would seem that Grande — who previously confirmed her new album is arriving this month — is dropping her new single on the former date, with her full-length effort landing on the latter.

The cryptic countdown comes only days after the songbird teased, “I can’t wait to give u my album this month.” With that, it appears “Positions” will presumably serve as the lead track from AG6 — still, only time will tell.

This is the latest hint we’ve received about AG6. Back in September, Grande previewed an untitled track on IG. “Brb,” the songbird wrote along with a seconds-long snippet, which features her singing runs and her signature “Yeah.” She followed the teaser with an apparent lyric from the song as well, tweeting, “know my love infinite nothing that i won’t do.”

As previously reported, Grande has reunited with Thank U, Next songwriters Tayla Parx and Victoria Monet for her upcoming record.

"The ‘Thank U, Next' crew did get back together over quarantine — after like, five COVID tests, literally. We just kind of let it happen naturally, same way as the last album,” Parx confirmed to Insider, describing AG6 as “another evolution" for the pop star.
