Following in the footsteps of Rihanna, Skylar Grey and more, Kehlani took the stage at Sunday night's (March 11) 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards at The Forum in Los Angeles to perform alongside the incomparable Eminem and offer the debut live performance of "Nowhere Fast," their collaboration off the rapper's 2017 LP, Revival, reminding us once again about the current climate of the world.
Even before the pair arrived on stage, the sentiment of the track was made clear by presenters Big Sean and Alex Moscou, one of the surviving students of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, when the sophomore promoted the forthcoming March For Our Lives in Washington D.C.
Just a few moments later, Slim Shady appeared on stage in a black jacket surrounding by a fog of smoke. After a speedy opening verse, the rapper shared the limelight with Kehlani, who appeared on the catwalk and walked toward the main stage with LED graphics following her every footstep on the floor. "I feel sorry for this beat, sympathy pains for this track/ This road is takin’ me back/ Down memory lane with this rap/ I can still look out in this crowd, be wowed and be taken aback/ I'm simply stating a fact/ I had Wembley Stadium packed/ But now we're on a path headed to nowhere and fast," he spit on the second verse.
DJ Khaled also caught the rapper on his way to the backstage corridors of the venue. Despite the short dialogue, the rapper seemed to be in good spirits. "It was great," Em told the hitmaker. "I feel the energy. It was incredible."
