Ariana Grande Pens Emotional Statement After Breaking Down During Concert

2019 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 3

Ariana Grande came to tears at one of her recent concerts.

The Sweetener singer was playing her show in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday (July 6) when Grande broke down as she delivered an emotionally-charged performance of "R.E.M." As seen in a fan-shot recording, the pop star was just about mid-way through the song before she stood shaking her head and covered her face attempting to sing the lyrics "Before you speak, don't move/ 'Cause I don't wanna wake up."

No one quite understood what it was that came over the 26-year-old, but hours after the clip surfaced online, Grande took to social media to explain what caused the waterworks.

“I’m grateful for the sea of love I have around me everyday and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy that they have,” she wrote.

“I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when I’m still processing a lot. So sometimes I cry a lot!" Grande added. "I'm not sure what i did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night … it really does carry me through."

She concluded: “I’m sharing this because I’m grateful and because I want you to know that if you too are hurting, you can push through and are not alone," she added. "It is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing/taking care of yourself at the same time … but I want you to know, you aren’t alone and I think you’re doing great. Love you.”

In the past, the songbird has expressed performing her emotional numbers can be exhausting and makes her feel "empty."
