Former NASCAR Driver Eric McClure Dead at 42

Former NASCAR driver Eric McClure has died at the age of 42.

CNN reported that the Washington County, Virginia, Sheriff's Department confirmed his death to them after they visited his residence on Sunday and discovered his body. At this time, a cause of death has not been released but the body was delivered to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science in Roanoke to undergo an autopsy.

McClure's fiancée, Keira Brinegar Tibbs, shared multiple emotional posts on her Facebook page saying goodbye to her love.

"I will love you until my last breath....please wait for me until then."

"Eric, you saved me as much as I saved you..... and now I am jealous of the angels."

NASCAR shared that McClure has battled health issues over the years. In 2019 he shared with a news outlet that he had been diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a severe musculoskeletal disorder as well as a lung infection.
