PHOTO: Boat Found Wrapped Around Tree After Tornadoes In Alabama

The Central Alabama Electric Cooperative shared a photo of damage left by recent tornadoes in Alabama.

Among the damage surveyed, the department shared a photo of what it said was a boat wrapped around a tree in Dallas County.

"From our crews working in Dallas County as they assess the damage to the area--that's a boat y'all," CAEC tweeted. "Please take these storms seriously throughout the afternoon and night. #alwx#stayalert#WeatherAware#staysafe"

Tree damage was reported throughout different parts of Central Alabama on Wednesday, including Billingsley, CBS 42 reports. The storms also left thousands of residents without power on Wednesday afternoon, Alabama Power confirmed.

CBS 42 also shared footage of a funnel cloud spotted over Selma, which is also in Dallas County, shared by viewer Garrett Price.

A tornado watch was in effect until 3:00 a.m. for Barbour and Pike counties, as well as Bullock, Chambers, Lee and Russell counties until around 12:21 p.m., according to NWS Birmingham via WVTM13.

The National Weather Service said Wednesday night it was compiling damage reports and locations of possible tornadoes, with "a dozen (plus) areas of damage" during its count as of 9:40 p.m. and planned to "take time to survey and release information over the coming days."
