Beyonce Working On Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts: Read Her New Statement

Beyond sharing a simple message on social media, BeyoncΓ© is doing what she can do to help those impacted by the Hurricane Harvey wreckage in her hometown, as per a new statement from the Houston Chronicle.

According to her recent statement, which was released on Monday (August 29), the pop titan is working with her team to implement efforts to help those left stranded and homeless. "My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help," she said.

"I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can," the statement continued.

On Monday (August 29), the New York Times had reported that at least 10 people have been killed and many more injured due to Harvey. Considering that Houston did not order evacuations before the storm, countless residents were trapped in flooding homes, leaving them to flee to higher floors and then their roofs. For information on how you can help those affected by Hurricane Harvey, head over to the official website for the American Red Cross or text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
