How Kelly Clarkson's 6-Year-Old Daughter Is Avoiding Schoolwork Over Zoom

Like parents everywhere, Kelly Clarkson is having a bit of a difficult time with her daughter's remote learning experience.

During the "Best in Class Hour" segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday (November 11), the chart-topper spoke with a flute teacher by the name of Kristen Wuest about how much she misses her students. "I haven't seen my students in person since March of 2020. I've been giving them their lessons on Zoom, so that's been interesting. But I cannot wait to be back with them in person and give them big hugs," Wuest, who teaches at Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts in New Jersey, told the superstar during the remote chat.

Meanwhile, The Voice judge is an intuitive mother, who has a different take on remote learning, especially after figuring out the way that her daughter, River Rose, 6, skips out on Zoom participation. "It's just so hard to get them to focus in general in the classroom. My daughter does this thing," Clarkson said, before mimicking River attempt’s to freeze in front of the web cam. "She'll just pretend like she's frozen so she doesn't have to do what they're asking her to do. I’m like, points for the comedy, but reel it in, dude."

In addition to school work, Clarkson recently revealed that River, as well as Remington Alexander, 4, are receiving therapy as she and their father, Brandon Blackstock, proceed with a divorce. "I have a great family and friends that are there for me," she admitted. “It's a very hard thing to navigate, to be able to be honest and share your story, so maybe you can help someone else, but at the same time protecting these little kids you adore. We have a lot of help as far as therapists or child psychologists 'cause we want to do it right. Everyone’s sad and it’s okay to be sad."
