The plot thickens.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard about Cardi B and Nicki Minaj's on-going beef. (If you haven't, just keep reading to get all the tea) Well, there's been a new development in their feud and it involves Future.
According to Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, Nicki prohibited Future from collaborating with Cardi on her single Drip, threatening to drop him from their joint tour if he did.
The song, which was released featuring Migos, was reportedly meant to have Future as its feature. "Guess who was on ['Drip'] first?" Jason teased on his Hollywood Unlocked podcast. "Future." He then hinted that Nicki was somehow involved. "Who's touring with Nicki?" he asked his co-hosts who responded, "Future." He followed up by saying that Nicki told the "Mask Off" rapper that if he wanted to go on tour he couldn't be on the song. Adding, "let somebody challenge me and I will drop [Future's version of 'Drip'] cause I got the reference track... the point is, Cardi has said, '[Nicki is] hating behind the scenes.'" He continued, "Future was on the track with Cardi. Migos jumped on because Future had to jump off."
Now, here's where things get interesting. Nicki's alleged threat went down way before Cardi's New York Fashion Week shoe-throwing incident, which —if you're a fan you already know — seems to speak to what Cardi said inspired her shoe-throwing antics. "I've let a lot of sh*t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f**k up the way I eat," Cardi wrote to Nicki on Instagram following their NYFW fight. "You've threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you'll stop f**kin with them!! I let you talk big shit about me!!" Nicki though later denied Cardi's accusations.
Now, for those who need a history lesson as to how Nicki and Cardi's once behind-the-scenes, drama got brought to life, here you go: As previously reported, Cardi was caught on camera throwing a shoe at Nicki, while at the Harper's Bazaar ICONS Fashion Week party on September 7. She was then photographed being escorted out of the event. The "I Like It" rapper later claimed that the brawl broke out because Nicki badmouthed her two-month-old daughter Kulture amongst other things.
