Kanye West Said He Was 'Hurt' When JAY-Z & Beyonce Skipped His Wedding

Kanye West's explosive sit-down interview with Charlamagne tha God arrived onto the blogosphere on Tuesday (May 1) and it features several nuggets, including a bit where the hip-hop titan admitted that he was hurt when his friend/collaborator JAY-Z and Beyoncé missed out on his wedding to Kim Kardashian in 2014.

"We’re good [now]. We’re texting each other. It’s positive energy. I haven’t seen him, but I can feel him," he told Charlamagne. "I was hurt about [him and Beyoncé] not coming to the wedding. I understand I was going through some things, but if it’s family, you’re not going to miss a wedding. I’m not using this interview to put out any negative things, but I gotta state my truth. … I’m past it, but at the time I was hurt."

Halfway through the interview, West also went in to talk about Barack Obama and how he understands why the former POTUS called the rapper a "jackass" for crashing the stage during Taylor Swift's 2009 MTV Video Music Awards speech. When he turned to talk about his hip-hop peer once again, West said that he understands just why the pair skipped out on the private ceremony in Florence, Italy. "I understand Jay not coming to the wedding. They just had an altercation," he continued. "I understand, but I have my feelings also, so it's complex."

In case you don't remember, JAY-Z and Beyoncé skipped out on the affair to spend the Memorial Day weekend in the Hamptons. However, Bey did share congratulations for the couple some time down the line by posting a photo from their spread in Vogue. "Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love," she wrote. "God bless your beautiful family."
