Tony Dow is NOW Dead at 77

Tony Dow has died for real this time. The 77-year-old succumbed to liver cancer yesterday after being diagnosed in May. As we told you, this comes a day after his death was prematurely reported.

The “Leave it to Beaver’s” star’s son, Christopher Dow, said in a statement on his father’s official Facebook page: “Although this is a very sad day, I have comfort and peace that he is in a better place. He was the best Dad anyone could ask for. He was my coach, my mentor, my voice of reason, my best friend, my best man in my wedding, and my hero.

While Tony was best known as Wally, Beaver’s older brother, he was also a director, writer, and producer working on several episodes of “Harry and the Hendersons,” “Coach,” “Babylon 5,” “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and an episode of “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.” In addition to his son, he’s survived by his wife, Lauren.
