Jennifer Aniston Reveals First Person She Texted During Plane Scare

2018 InStyle Awards - Red Carpet

Jennifer Aniston is opening up about the plane scare she experienced.

During Wednesday's appearance on (June 5) The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Dumplin' actress recalled the terrifying time her birthday trip to Mexico came to a stop when the plane was ordered to turn around to make an emergency landing without one of its tires. Aniston, who was aboard the flight with gal pal and Friends co-star Courtney Cox, remembers the incident with traumatic clarity.

"When we were in flight, it was very turbulent. Everyone else was very calm because they're not afraid of flying," Aniston recounted to DeGeneres. "It's about an hour and a half of white knuckling it and then the stewardess says to me, 'The pilot would like to talk to you.' And I said, 'I don't want to talk to the pilot.' I sent one of my very calm friends to go talk to the pilot."

Aniston recalled "everybody on the plane started panicking" and started "texting their children and their loved ones," and she decided to do the same. "I was like, 'Who do I text?'" she remembers contemplating. "And then, because you get texts up in the air, you [Ellen] were the first person that was like, 'Are you OK?'"

To her excitement, Aniston jokingly adds her first thought was "'Ellen! I do have someone who loves me!'"

Later on during the interview, the 50-year-old admits there was lots of drinking involved in order to cope with another flight they had to take, quipping, "We all got pretty hammered. ...Let's go out with some tequila."
