A petition to move Halloween is in the works. The Halloween and Costume Association’s petition has received over 8,000 signatures. The “Saturday Halloween Movement” asks for Halloween to be celebrated on the last Saturday of October rather than the 31st, which usually falls during the middle of the week.
The list of pros have outweigh the cons, the petition outlines that it would be easier for parents to get their kids ready for the holiday without being rushed, which makes for more people to celebrate and purchase items related to Halloween which could boost the economy.
Also, teachers would have it easier by kids not being distracted in class with costumes.
