Lance Bass Says 'We Should Listen To' Britney Spears Amid Her Legal Battle

Lance Bass has spoken out about Britney Spears’ controversial 12-year conservatorship once again.

After previously admitting that he wasn't worried about his old pal’s legal restraints, the former *NSYNC bandmate has now come forward to argue that we should listen to the star's wishes as she fights for her freedom to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed as her conservator.

In an interview with Australia's Today Extra via Daily Mail, Bass said, "We should definitely listen to her, and if she wants out of this conservatorship with her dad controlling it, then we should listen to her. I don’t know the specifics of her situation and if she should be out of a conservatorship. But the thing I've told the fans out there is I don’t know. I have no idea what’s really going on."

While Spears' family appears to be the reason she is stuck in the restraints in the first place, Bass said that he has trust in her sister Jamie Lynn and "as long as [she] is cool with whatever she’s doing, I mean, I have to be."

He also reflected on Spears' global fame in comparison to his superstardom after being a boy band bandmate. "Being a female is definitely different. Being at such a young age. Also, I had my best friends in my group, so it was easier to deal with. She was just a solo act," he said during the interview. "She had everything riding on her shoulders, the whole world was either against her or for her and that’s a lot to take in."

As per the latest court hearing in her case, Spears' conservatorship has been extended until 2021. Jamie, her mother, Lynne Spears, and her attorney, Samuel Ingham, all appeared via a remote hearing, where the court decided to focus on Jamie's handling of the star's assets for the 2019 year. However, the court announced they'd continue to look into the matter in the coming year. During a previous hearing, Ingham made it clear that the pop titan is not interested in a personal or professional relationship with Jamie. "My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She also stated that she will not perform as long as her father is in charge of her career," the attorney claimed.
