School is important, but receiving a college education isn't necessary for many professions that keep our society functioning. Stacker has compiled a list of the highest-paying jobs that don't require a college degree in the San Diego area.
"Stacker consulted the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook to compile a list of all jobs that don't require higher education. All professions that listed a high-school diploma, some college education (without a degree conferred), postsecondary non-degree award, or no formal education requirements for entry-level positions were considered."
These are the top 10 highest-paying jobs in San Diego that don't require a college degree:

- Electrical and electronics repairers, powerhouse, substation, and relay - Annual Mean Salary of $111,660

- First-line supervisors of correctional officers - Annual Mean Salary of $104,900
- Detectives and criminal investigators - Annual Mean Salary of $103,900
