Disney Shared The Recipe For Chocolate Waffles With Frozen Espresso Mousse

Sunday (September 6) marked the beginning of National Waffle Week. To celebrate National Waffle Week, Disney Parks Blog released its recipe for one of the most popular Animal Kingdom menu items—Chocolate Waffles with Espresso Frozen Mousse. These delicious chocolate waffles are served at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom and the recipe can also be found in the Delicious Disney Sweet Treats cookbook.

Disney Parks Blog shared mouthwatering photos of Chocolate Waffles with Espresso Frozen Mousse on their Instagram account, as well as a few other popular waffle-themed menu items from Disney parks. "Did you know it’s the first day of [Waffle Week]?" the caption reads. "Well, we’re serving up a sweet celebration with this recipe for chocolate waffles with espresso frozen mousse inspired by a previous offering from Tamu Tamu Refreshments at Disney’s Animal Kingdom."

Here's what you'll need to make these chocolate waffles:

Ingredients:

Espresso Mousse

  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • 4 cups heavy cream, divided
  • 3 tablespoons espresso or strongly brewed coffee 
  • 6 egg yolks

Chocolate Sauce

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips

Waffles

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar 
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 3/4 cups milk 
  • 1 egg 
  • 1/4 cup butter 
  • 1/8 cup semisweet chocolate chips
