T.I. Slams Joel Osteen For Delaying Church Opening For Hurricane Victims

T.I. took to social media to blast Pastor Joel Osteen for taking too long to open his church doors to Houston residents who needed shelter because of Hurricane Harvey.

On Wednesday (Aug. 30) morning, Osteen appeared on Today show to discuss the reason he didn't open his megachurch sooner. The pastor simply said because the city of Houston didn't ask him to. “If people were here, they’d realize there were safety issues,” Osteen said on TV. “We were just being pre-cautious, but the main thing is the city didn’t ask us to become a shelter then.”

Frustrated with Osteen's delay to help people who needed food and shelter in his church, T.I. snapped. On Instagram, the rapper captioned someone's video of the disaster: “This is why people (like me) don’t trust the mega churches. How can someone (especially a so called man of God) make 70+Ms a yr TAX FREE from citizens of a city that’s now in distress & in dyer need of food water & shelter NOT OPEN THE DOORS OF GODs HOUSE (supposedly) to help those in need?”

Even though Osteen has tried to rectify the situation, it looks like the damage has already been done. Check out Tip's entire message below.
