Halsey To Make Acting Debut In TV Series 'The Players Table'

Halsey is bringing her acting talents to the small screen.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the “Nightmare” singer’s casting alongside Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney in an upcoming television series, titled The Players Table. Based on Jessica Goodman’s young adult novel They Wish They Were Us, Halsey will make her acting debut in the project, which she will also produce. Annabelle Attanasio (Paint It Black) will write, direct, and executive produce The Players Table, which has yet to secure a network.

"I am the luckiest girl in the world because I get to make my acting debut with my favorite human-being @sydney_sweeney, on a tv adaptation of an amazing book by @jessicagoodman, to be written/adapted + directed by one of the greatest @annabelleattanasio and wildest of all I will also be a PRODUCER on the series with some of my idols JEAN-MARC VALLÉE + NATHAN ROSS @crazyrosefilms with Sydney’s Fifty-Fifty Films @fiftyfiftyfilms!" Halsey wrote on Instagram. "You guys are gonna fall in love with The Players Table. I simply cannot wait.... photos by @samdameshek."

The series, set at a Long Island prep school, follows high school senior Jill Newman (Sweeney), whose inquest into her best friend’s death three years later is sparked by “a formidable, emotionally troubled young woman” named Rachel Calloway (Halsey).

From there, the synopsis reads as follows, via The Hollywood Reporter:

Once a legendary member of ‘The Players’ who graduated three years ago, Rachel left the group and dissociated from her wealthy Long Island roots when her younger brother, Graham, was convicted for Shaila's murder. She is brought back to Long Island by her conviction that Graham is not responsible for this crime. Together, Rachel and Jill join forces to embark on a quest for the truth of what really happened that night, with the hope to exonerate her brother before he turns 18.

The Players Table will mark a reunion for the 25-year-old songbird and the 22-year-old actress, who previously worked together on Halsey's 2019 music video for “Graveyard.”
