Kanye West Thinks His 'Yandhi' Album 'Will Come In Number 2' To 'Carter V'

Kanye West may have had a moment of humility (or realism, but I'll let you be the judge of that).

On Thursday (September 27), Ye seemed to ditch his usual competitive nature by tweeting his thoughts on his upcoming album, Yandhi, being released on Saturday (September 29) after Lil Wayne's highly-anticipated album, Tha Carter V, on Thursday.

"We’re releasing Yandhi Saturday night," Kanye wrote on Twitter. "We know it will come in number 2 to my brother Lil Wayne and that’s lovely." He added, "The universe needs Ye and Wayne music at the same time."

As fans know, Ye has always been competitive — he had a whole album beef/challenge with 50 Cent in 2007 to see who could sell the most albums. So his tweet came as a surprise to many. However, the moment may have been more about his realistic thinking, and Ye accepting his fate, rather than a moment of humility given that Tha Carter V has had the most build-up since it's been over six years in the making.

As previously reported, Wayne finally revealed the release date of his album in a three-part Instagram video earlier this week. "I would like for you to know that since y'all stuck with me and hung in there any way for like the past four or five years through all of this —y'all got me feeling like Tiger Woods with this comeback — on my birthday, I actually have something special," he teased. "I will be releasing Tha Carter V on my birthday [September 27]."

"Like I said, I mean y'all hung in there with me for the past thirty million years anyway. Y'all hung in there with me so I can't do nothing but thank y'all for all the love and all the passion," he added. "And every ounce of anything I have left in my heart it goes to y'all. Honestly, my fans, my supporters, the world, you know, of course, it's God and family first [but] I am nothing, absolutely nothing without my fans."

While all eyes have been focused on Ye and Wayne's albums dropping, it has to be noted that Logic has also thrown his hat into the ring for the week's number one album as he's also set to release his album YSIV this week.
