Halsey Sings 'Finally // Beautiful Stranger' For 'Jersey 4 Jersey' Concert

Halsey’s latest performance is uplifting spirits everywhere.

The singer-songwriter delivered an open-hearted acoustic rendition of her song “Finally // Beautiful Stranger” as part of last night’s “Jersey 4 Jersey” benefit concert. During her presentation, the Jersey native sits on a stool with her mic and acoustic guitar from the comfort of her home before delivering the song. Making the moment even more meaningful, Halsey enlists several fans to perform backing instrumentals during the number.

“Beautiful stranger/ Here you are in my arms and I know/ That beautiful strangers/ Only come along to do me wrong,” she sings in the chorus. “And I hope, beautiful stranger/ Here you are in my arms/ But I think it's finally/ Finally, finally, finally, finally safe/ For me to fall.”

Halsey was among the many artists to deliver at-home performances for the “Jersey 4 Jersey” benefit alongside Bruce Springsteen, Charlie Puth, SZA, Tony Bennett, and Jon Bon Jovi.

The fundraiser event, organized by the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF), was launched to raise awareness on the devastating social and economic toll the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has taken on the state.

"New Jersey is on the front lines of this pandemic, making it more important than ever for us to do what Jersey does best — take care of one another," New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy said in an announcement. "That's why we're asking everyone in our state to join the NJPRF and some of New Jersey's finest for some much-needed musical entertainment, levity and Jersey Pride during these unprecedented times."

As yet, Jersey has the second highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases with 95,865 and counting, and over 5,000 deaths related to the novel disease.
