Tyga is suing both Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment, claiming the record labels withheld at least $1 million in royalties from him.

According to TMZ, the "Taste" rapper, whose real name is Michael Stevenson, claims that Birdman and Lil Wayne (the founders of each label) shorted him on "significant sums" and he wants no less than $1 million from them, as well as access to their labels' accounting records and royalty statements.

Tyga alleges that he signed a deal in 2009 to produce two albums for Young Money (which was founded as a joint venture between Wayne and Birdman's Cash Money Records), Careless World and Hotel California. While both albums performed well, charting on Billboard charts, Tyga says he never received what he was owed for their releases.

He additionally claims that both Cash Money and Young Money agreed to pay him his royalties in 2016 but never paid up. According to the report, Tyga has attempted to receive the money he believes he's owed a number of times, however, he keeps getting stonewalled.

Tyga's lawsuit against Cash Money and Young Money comes nearly three months after Wayne was reportedly awarded "well over $10 million" in his suit against Birdman and Cash Money Records. The settlement came after the rappers' three-year legal battle. In 2015, Wayne sued Cash Money for $51 million, claiming the record label violated his contract, withholding his money after delaying his album, Tha Carter V, several times.

The lawsuit definitely impacted the former friends' relationship, with both rappers taking shots at each other over the years. However, Birdman recently apologized for his part in their years-long feud during the Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans on Saturday (August 25). ā€œI wanted to apologize to my n**ga worldwide,ā€ he told the crowd. ā€œThat n**ga put his life in my hands and Iā€™m real with that n**ga, we gonā€™ do that s**t ā€™til the day we die. Itā€™s YMCMB [Young Money Cash Money Billionaires] for death.ā€
