Companies spent an average of $5 million for a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl LII. The cost may seem excessive, but the Super Bowl is the most-watched television event of the year, with over 100 million people tuning in across the world. 

A 30-second commercial aired during the Super Bowl can be a launching pad for some companies, or a chance to rebrand for others. Even if they are terrible, people will always remember them. Companies spare no expense on the ads, with many companies hiring the biggest names in show-business to star in their commercial. 

Here are some of the best from Super Bowl LII.

The first commercial after kick-off is the most coveted spot. This year that commercial was an emotional spot by Toyota highlighting the journey of Lauren Woolstencroft, who won eight gold medals in Paralympic Games. 

Some companies get a headstart and post their ads on YouTube ahead of time. 

Lexus has teamed up with Marvel, for this amazing work of cross-promotion. This commercial is part car commercial and part trailer for the highly-anticipated Black Panther

Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman have a rap battle in this commercial for Doritos Blaze and Mountain Dew Ice.

In Amazon's commercial Alexa loses her voice and replaced by celebrities. 

David Harbour, from the Netflix hit show Stranger Thing, starred in Tide's super bowl commercial.
