Pennsylvania Politician Learns He Has Brain Tumor After Dog Headbutts Him

A Republican candidate in a special election for a Pennsylvania State Senate seat received a shocking diagnosis after his dog headbutted himDave Arnold thought he had a concussion after his dog smacked him in the head while they were playing. After a few days, his symptoms got worse and in addition to constant headaches, he started having trouble with his vision.

Arnold went to an ophthalmologist who told him he did not have a concussion and recommended that he see a neurologist. That's when he learned he had a malignant brain tumor. Luckily, the tumor was discovered early and he underwent successful surgery to have it removed. He still has to undergo additional treatment but is expected to make a full recovery.

Arnold is taking some time off from the campaign trail but has no intention of withdrawing from the race.

"While this speed bump was laid in front of me, I am as committed as ever to serving the people of Lebanon County as District Attorney and, if elected, everyone in the 48th State Senatorial District as our next State Senator," he said on Facebook.
