VIDEO: Denver Zoo Lions Play In The Snow Like Dogs

On March 13 and 14, Denver saw its fourth largest snowstorm in recorded history. The 23.8 inches of snow caused roads, schools, and the Denver International Airport to temporarily shut down.

But while many Coloradans were getting stuck in the snow, some furry friends at the Denver Zoo were having a much better time during last weekend's blizzard.

On Monday, March 15, lions at the Denver Zoo frolicked through the fallen snow and luckily there's a video to prove just how much they loved the snow.

A Facebook post from the zoo shows four lions running around in white snow like dogs.

"In Africa, lions spend most of their day trying to find ways to keep cool, so surprisingly, our lions love the snow as they can be as active as they want without overheating!" reads the post on the Denver Zoo's page. "And if they catch a chill, they have heated rocks to lounge on and heated bedrooms waiting when they need them."

Not only did the snowstorm break a record in Denver, but it was also the second-largest snowstorm the city has ever seen during the month of March, according to the National Weather Service.
