T.I., LL Cool J & More Plea For Stop to Modern Slave Trade in Libya

After a recent report on CNN featuring footage of young men being sold into slavery in Libya a number of prominent rappers and singers have taken to Twitter to decry the shocking story about the modern slave trade seemingly taking place in the open in the nation that has fallen into chaos since a civil war erupted more than seven years ago.

One of the most vocal was T.I., who posted a series of outraged tweets on Monday night (Nov. 27) in which he urged his followers to repost the images and video to raise awareness of the situation. "This is PURE EVIL!!!!! I'm LIVID!!!! Satin is BUSY as a muuuf**ka," Tip wrote. "Spiritual Warfare in full effect. What side u on? Fight Back... Repost!!!! For more info just google "slave trade in Libya."

LL Cool J also weighed in, urging Western leaders to step in and remove the slave traders since "the west used Military force to help the rebels remove [former Libyan dictator Muammar] Gaddafi" in 2011 following a NATO bombing campaign.

Pharrell Williams, Jill Scott, Questlove and Faith Evans also urged action to stop the disturbing situation.
