Woman Who Went Into Labor, Gave Birth And Finished Her Bar Exam PASSED!

The woman who gave birth during the bar exam passed!

Brianna Hill announced on Facebook that she passed her test, which she took while in labor, paused to give birth to her son, and then finished the exam.

The COVID-19 pandemic pushed Hill’s exam from July to October, so she was further along than she thought she’d be while taking it, according to NBC Chicago. Hill, a Loyola University grad, took the bar exam from home and when she went into labor within minutes. She “didn’t think about it because I was in the test…I cleaned myself up, called my husband and the test kept going.”

Although Hill said on her Facebook page on Tuesday (December 1) that she hadn’t posted much about herself and her story, she had a few thoughts to share after learning she’d passed.

One was, “FEMALES ARE STRONG AS HELL,” Hill said. “I took part of the exam sitting on towels because my water had broken and the other part sitting on an ice pack because I had given birth the night before...I only slept for 1.5 hours before the second day of the test because my sweet baby was SO grunty."

"I did all of this because I did not see any other option to accomplish both my goals- become a lawyer and a mom,” she said.

She went on to credit her “best freaking support system ever,” and pointed out that other test-takers complete the exam — reflecting “privilege” more so than “competence” — through “difficult circumstances.”

"I am SO happy I get to be a lawyer officially and am so thankful that I got here,” Hill wrote. “Now, I am going to go celebrate with my cute little family."
