Olympic Swimmer Shows Off Incredible Core Strength In Quarantine Workout

The 2020 Olympics have been postponed until 2021 at the earliest, but athletes still need to stay in shape. However, with gyms closed across the globe, many are left to their own devices to keep fit. One Russian swimmer just posted the creative way she is working out, and while her innovative exercise is interesting, people can't get over the incredible core strength she exhibits while doing it.

Her name is Yulia Efimova and she has three medals for the breaststroke from the 2016 and 2012 Olympics. In the video though, instead of being in a pool, she is on an island in her kitchen. Her lower body, from her mid-thighs down to her feet, is laying on the counter, but the rest of her body floats above her floor as she remarkably practices four different types of swimming - freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke.

If you watch closely, you can see someone holding Yulia's feet, but the exercise is still an incredibly impressive show of core strength.

Yulia is no stranger making headlines. Five years ago she served a 16-month ban after testing positive for a banned steroid. These days, she had a spot at the Tokyo Games, which are now scheduled for 2021, but Russia as a whole has been banned from the Olympics, though athletes can compete neutrally, without representing a country. No word on if the 28-year-old will do that.

Millions have already watched Yulia's video, but one person who is not impressed is fellow swimmer Michael Jamieson. The Scottish Olympic medalist tweeted, "2 million views for a 3 time dope cheat, gtf."
