Traci Braxton Spills On Future Of 'Braxton Family Values' Amid Cast Walkout

Braxton Family Values star Traci Braxton has opened up about the future of the WE tv series after reports spread that her sisters Toni, Tamar, Towanda, Trina and mother Evelyn have halted filming after issues surrounding their contract negotiations.

"You should watch [the new season] because you will see the turn in and turn up of the strike. And me being by myself holding the fort down," the star told Us Weekly at WE tv's celebration for the latest season of the show on Tuesday (August 21). "I had to make a decision for myself [to continue filming the series] and I had to make sure that me and my family’s okay. I didn't want to become a traitor or anything like that, but I have a family to think about."

Braxton knows that the public doesn't think the family actually sticks together, but she has faith in their bond. "Everybody thinks that we hate on each other. My parents did not believe in that, especially trying to play one sibling against the other," she continued. "We [weren't] raised that way. It's all love. Every family go through some spats. It doesn't even matter if you’re not even the closest family. You go through some spats. But somehow, some way, you always mend it right back together."

Back in late June, insiders close to TMZ revealed that the entire cast, including Tamar, Toni, Towanda, Traci, Trina and mom Evelyn, was scheduled to start shooting in Atlanta, but only Traci showed up for filming. WE tv ended up sending the crew home, pulling the plug on the taping. As per some whispers, the Braxton crew have refused to return to work until the network and Magical Elves production company renegotiate their contracts to "appropriate" level salaries for the second half of Season 6. When it comes to specifics, the cast also reportedly have an issue with their wardrobe and travel stipends.
