Here Is What You Should Eat Before And After Your Vaccine Appointment

Are you getting your vaccine soon and nervous about the side effects?

Experts are saying that your food intake before and after can help reduce anything you might feel after. So what helps? A healthy diet of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains and protein sources like fish, poultry, and eggs is recommended. Try and avoid red meat and dairy before the appointment.

They also say a high-fiber diet can help build the immune system and a low glycemic index diet will help keep blood sugar levels steady. Ginger tea can also help with your stomach after the vaccine. Doctors recommend not doing "anything drastic like juicing or detox."

Even with these tips it's important that you understand side effects still may happen. Some people have experienced a fever, nausea, or muscle pain. Doctors say it's a sign that the vaccine is working and you can take Tylenol to relieve the pain the next day. DO NOT take anything before your visit to the vaccine center!

Those of you who have been vaccinated already - what kind of side effects did you experience?
