Drake Executive Producing HBO Teen Drama 'Euphoria' Starring Zendaya

Drake will serve as executive producer of HBO's upcoming series, Euphoria, an adaptation of the 2012 Israeli series of the same name, and the show will star Zendaya, Variety reported on Monday (July 30).

According to the outlet, the Young Money MC will join his manager, Future the Prince, as executive producer for the A24 series, which follows a group of high school students as they "navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship." Zendaya will lead the cast, which also includes Maude Apatow, Brian "Astro" Bradley, Angus McLoud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweeney.

Sam Levinson will write the entire first season, which comprises of 10 episodes. HBO picked up Euphoria in March before announcing the rapper's involvement on Monday. Drizzy's participation in the series is a fitting decision, particularly after his early career days as an actor on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Back in June, he returned to his roots in his music video for "I'm Upset," recruiting his Degrassi castmates for an epic 10-year high school reunion.

In related news, Drake also recently shared the first look at OVO's upcoming basketball line with Nike, posting a photo of a blue basketball jersey alongside with the caption: "On Road 18/19."
