Dunkin' Is Now Selling DIY Donut Decorating Kits

Well, this sounds fun!

At select Dunkin' locations, customers can now pick up DIY donut decorating kits. The kits include four donuts, as well as various frosting and sprinkle options. Customers will be able to mix and match flavors they wouldn't normally be able to order at the store.

The idea for the DIY kits came from a Dunkin' franchise owner named Matt Cobo. After one of his employeees, Norma Valkenaar, asked if she could bring some of the ingredients home for her nephews to decorate their own donuts. Unsurprisingly, they loved the activity. After that, Cobo and his employees began making the kits for more of their friends and family. Soon enough, other franchises started joining in and now they're available for purchase at Dunkin' locations across the country.

“The reality of this experience has set in, and we know it’s not going anywhere anytime soon,” Cobo shared in the press release. “Like most parents, we were looking for ways to entertain our kids and bring a little levity to this situation.”

“This is our small way of trying to brighten someone’s day,” Cobo continued. “The simple joy of getting to create your own donut can make kids light up, and if we can be a part of creating that moment, that makes us happy.”
