Michelle Williams Receives Birthday Wishes Amid Depression Treatment

This Destiny’s Child is a survivor, all right. Michelle Williams was beaming and in good spirits when TMZ caught up with the singer and her husband-to-be, Chad Johnson, on Tuesday night (July 24).

The star, who recently sought treatment for depression at a mental health facility last week, celebrated her 38th birthday the night before and received tons of birthday love and support from fans and her fellow sister in song, Kelly Rowland. “Happy Birthday to my sista @RealMichelleW - love you ‘Chelle,” the 34-year-old songbird wrote via Instagram, along with a playful vid to honor Williams big day.

The musician's rare public appearance comes just a week after TMZ reported she had entered a facility just outside of Los Angeles on July 17. Soon after, Williams released this emotional note about her mental health struggles: "For years I have dedicated myself increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help … I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals."

Days later, Williams tweeted an assuring update letting fans know she has, indeed, been feeling better since seeking help: "I feel the [love]! I just wanted to let you guys know I'm better." Seeing her through the process is her doting fiance, Pastor Johnson, who, after one year of dating, asked for Williams' hand in marriage on April 19.
