United Way Celebrates 11th Annual HomeWalk To End Homelessness IN L.A. County

Cameron Boyce's father is speaking out for the first time since his son's unfortunate passing.

“I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received," the actor's dad, Victor, expressed in an emotional tweet this week. "It really does help to ease the pain of this nightmare I can’t wake up from. I can’t thank you guys enough."

Cameron, popularly known for his work on the Disney Channel show Jessie and film franchise Descendants, died at the age of 20 in his sleep on Saturday (July 6). An official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, however, his family revealed "[Cameron] passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated."

"The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him," read a statement from the Boyce family in light of Cameron's death.

New reports from TMZ also alleged Cameron was epileptic, and law enforcement sources have characterized the performer died of "natural" causes, referring to "conditions in the body which result in death."

The Grown Ups entertainer was found unresponsive by his roommate, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene as Cameron was unable to be revived.

Cameron's friends and co-stars have since taken to social media to express their condolences. Among them was Adam Sandler, who wrote of the up-and-comer on Twitter: “Too young. Too Sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid."
