KISS Live Miscue Leads To More Lip-Sync Accusations Against Paul Stanley

KISS kritics are pointing to the band's recent show opener in Antwerp, Beligum, as more evidence that Paul Stanley has been offloading at least some of his live vocals to pre-recorded tracks.

A few Kiss fans in attendance at the June 6 gig at Sportpaleis noticed something strange towards the end of the set-opener, "Detroit Rock City,' when Stanley could be heard singing "Everybody" despite not being at the microphone.

Numerous fan-shot videos of the song show the strange moment, with some users determining that a rare mistake by drummer Eric Singer led to the band falling out of time with the vocal track.

YouTuber Jochem Blaauw described what happened in the description of his own footage.

"Show opening of the Antwerpen show 2022. Eric's rare mistake at 5:05 makes even more interesting."

He added in a subsequent comment: "Great quality. Curious about Eric's rare mistake at 5:09 and Paul's 'singing' right after..."

Stanley publicly struggled with his vocal range and stamina in years leading up to the 'End of the Road' tour. The issues were so significant that even Gene Simmons mocked the frontman during a 2018 solo concert. But since the farewell tour launched, Stanley has sounded strong — perhaps too strong — night after night.

There are a few other videos online as demonstrative as the Antwerp footage. You can watch it via the player below.

After touring abroad all summer, Kiss will return to the U.S. in September. Go here for all the tour dates.
