The 'Most Important Thing' Demi Lovato Learned Following Max Ehrich Split

Demi Lovato is reflecting on life following her breakup with Max Ehrich.

The “Anyone” musician made an appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna this week to speak about everything she’s learned about herself this year, which Lovato describes has “been such a rollercoaster” considering life amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“I mean, honestly, for me, the beginning of the year started out, I was on this trajectory to have a pretty eventful career, and I was planning my comeback,” said the 28-year-old, who had big plans this year, including releasing her seventh studio album.

Lovato also made a real love connection amid the pandemic, having quarantined with the Young and the Restless actor, to whom she was later engaged after just a few months of dating.

Sadly, the “I Love Me” singer suffered an embarrassingly public split from the 29-year-old, who more or less made a spectacle of the split. Looking back on everything that’s happened in 2020, the Grammy nominee shared the most valuable lesson she learned through it all.

“I think the most important thing that I’ve learned is how much I am OK with myself and loving myself,” Lovato told Jenna Bush Hager. “It wasn’t until this year that I really started exploring the things that bring joy to my life in little ways.”

As fans know, Ehrich, who hit it off with the Disney star in March, popped the question to Lovato in late-July. After months of what looked to be happy moments between the two, it was reported that the couple had ended their engagement in September, reportedly on Lovato’s call.

Ehrich didn’t take the news too well, and went on to make claims about the superstar, alleging she never informed him about their breakup before reading about it in the press.
