Nick Cannon and Chris Brown have reportedly teamed up for a new indie film. Cannon has reportedly signed on to direct, write, producer and star alongside Brown in She Ball, Variety reports.
She Ball reportedly centers around a womenâs street basketball team. The story will be told through the perspective of Avery Watt (Cannon), who enlists a team of ferocious female ballers to help him save the embattled Inglewood Community Center, which he manages while raising his daughter.
Cannon and Brown will star alongside Cedric the Entertainer and Evan Ross. Real-life athletes from the WNBA, Ball Up, and the Basketball Beauties League, will also be featured in the movie in order to bring authenticity to the the narrative, Variety reports.
In addition to acting in the film, Cannon will be stepping behind the camera as the producer, with help from Demetrius Spencer of One Media Worldwide. The soundtrack will also be produced by Cannon and Birdman.
âIâm very excited for this film. Itâs something powerful for the culture, uplifting for the community, and the filmâs main objective is to empower women! Itâs going to be incredible,â Cannon said.
She Ball does not have a release date at this time.
