It's easy to look back at 2020 and only remember the difficulties we faced this year. Despite those difficulties, though, happy moments persisted. Some of the happiest moments, of course, are engagements. There were plenty of those in 2020. From Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton finally making it official to a surprising proposal from Brooklyn Beckham, there was a lot of love this year, too. Here are all the celebrity engagements that took place in 2020.
Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey is reportedly engaged to musician/model Clayton Johnson who she met on a dating app. The engagement comes just nine months after she and her 46-year-old police officer boyfriend Sean ‘Sticks’ Larkin called it quits back in March.
While neither has confirmed the news or even their relationship, Johnson has posted a handful of photos and videos of Del Rey including a photo in October taken by Del Rey that has her legs in the photo.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton
Five years after Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton found love while working together on The Voice, Shelton finally popped the question. The newly engaged couple shared the happy news with matching Instagram posts. Shelton was previously married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, while Stefani shares three sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
Amber P. Riley and Desean Black
She said yes! Glee's Amber Riley shared the news of her engagement to boyfriend Desean Black back in November. "I am so proud to say, I am the future Mrs. Black," she wrote in her Instagram announcement.
Liam Payne and Maya Henry
Former One Direction member Liam Payne popped the question to girlfriend Maya Henry earlier this year. The pair keep their relationsnhip out of the public eye, so, it's unclear when, exactly, Payne got down on one knee. The 'Strip That Down' singer confirmed the news of his engagement in September, though, after Henry was spotted with a huge diamond on that finger.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz
After less than a year of dating, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Pelts got engaged over the summer. Beckham's mom, Victoria Beckham, raved about the happy news, saying she and her husband David Beckahm "could not be happier" about the engagement.
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell
Lily Collins is set to wed her director beau Charlie McDowell. The happy couple got engaged while vacationing in Joshua Tree. “I’ve been waiting my lifetime for you and I can’t wait to spend our lifetime together," Collis wrote of her engagement on Instagram.
Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird
Megan Rapino and Sue Bird are making it official. The superstar athletes shared the exciting news on Instagram in October.
Billie Lourd and Austin Rydell
In June of this year, news outlets reported Billie Lourd was engaged to her boyfriend Austin Rydell. As if that wasn't exciting enough, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Kingston in September.
Maya Erskine and Michael Angarano
Back in November, actors Maya Erskine and Michael Angarano shared they were engaged and expecting in matching Instagram posts.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Andre Gray
