From his lips to God's ears. Ed Sheeran says he's ready to work with October's Very Own, Mr. Aubrey 'Drake' Graham.

"I feel like, at some point, me and Drake need to do something, I feel like that has to happen at some point," he told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview about his upcoming music. "I mean, I’ve been on tour for God knows how long and he’s been on tour for God knows how long and he’s constantly releasing stuff. I just think at some point those two worlds have to meet, and I don’t know how or what it sounds like, but I feel like it’s inevitable."

Speaking of inevitability, the "Love Yourself" singer basically said he knows their collaboration would be hit. "We’re very different in a lot of ways, which I think would make for an interesting song," Ed continued. "I’ve only met him a couple of times. I don’t even know if it’s in the cards. I’d like to think he has the same mindset as me." (One can only hope!)

Ed isn't only a fan of Drake's music, he's also a fan of his business strategy and would like to take a page out of the "God's Plan" rapper's book for his upcoming projects. "If I came out with an album next, people would compare it to [my last album] ÷ [Divide] and want it to be bigger and sell more. I kind of learned from looking at how Drake does it," Ed told EW, referencing how Drake released an EP, More Life, in between his albums Views and Scorpion

"Drake puts out these albums that are huge but then in between he sticks out projects and however big the project is, it doesn’t really matter because it’s not the album, if that makes sense," he added. "It just clears the air for the next album."

While the "Shape of You" singer doesn't have an album on the way he is gearing up to release new music, which he revealed will be a different sound than his fans are used to. "I don’t think there’s an acoustic guitar on it," Ed admitted. "Which, to be an acoustic singer-songwriter, it’s different... it's not a pop album... it’s not an album or a mixtape or anything, it’s just a collection of songs that will just come out."
