Things in a Payson neighborhood escalated quickly Monday night, after a dispute between two men led to a shooting. Around 10:30 p.m. officers received a call about a shooting in progress. Upon arriving police found two men who had been shooting at each other in the middle of the street, having exchanged anywhere between 10 to 15 gunshots over a two block area. Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds, as well as the wife of one of the victims who had received some minor injuries. She was later released.
Investigators are still looking into what prompted the altercation, but believe it began earlier in the day. They are asking anyone with any sort of information or surveillance video to contact them.
