The list of performers for Aretha Franklin's funeral continues to grow.
On Thursday (August 30), it was announced that Jennifer Hudson had joined the already star-packed list of performers ā including, Chaka Khan, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Ariana Grande, Faith Hill, and that's just naming a few ā for the Queen of Soul's homegoing ceremony on Friday (August 31). According to a setlist obtained by TMZ, the "Spotlight" singer will perform "Amazing Grace." Jennifer's performance is highly anticipated as she is set to play Aretha in an upcoming biopic.
Memorial services for Aretha began on Tuesday (August 28) with day one of her public viewing at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, where Aretha arrived in a gold-plated casket wearing 5-inch, red Christian Louboutins. Day two of her viewing kicked off on Wednesday, followed by Thursday's (August 30) event, "A People's Tribute to the Queen" at Chene Park. Thursday's tribute alone will feature at least 22 musical acts ā including The Four Tops, Johnny Gill, and Ron Isley, TMZ reports.
Aretha passed away on August 16 at her home in Detroit ādue to advance pancreatic cancer of the neuroendocrine type.ā
The Queen of Soul's final memorial service will be held at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
