The Real Reason Cardi B Almost Quit The Music Industry

2017 has been the year of Cardi B. Everything started falling into place for the star when she left "Love & Hip Hop."

Cardi topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Bodak Yellow," was featured on G-Eazy's platinum-selling "No Limit" single, got engaged to Migos rapper Offset, signed an endorsement deal with Steve Madden and much more. However, the recording artist almost called it quits right before all of these achievements.

Recently on social media, Cardi admitted that she thought about quitting music when another artist took her verse off of a song. "I did a verse to somebody's song," Cardi said in a new video. "And other artists were on the song as well. I was so excited because I felt like my verse was so poppin'. Then, the artist told me that I couldn't be on the song anymore because one of the artists that was on the song felt like I was too small and they were too big for me to be on the same song with them."

She continued: "I was just fresh off 'Love & Hip Hop' and everything, and that s**t broke my heart. I felt so bad, because, like, ...couldn't really cheer me up. You know I was with my publicist, Patience, and I was with my managers and it almost teared me up so bad, I was like, 'I don't wanna do this s**t anymore. I'm just gonna f**k with this TV s**t.'"

Luckily, Cardi's team didn't allow her to stop. The rapper explained: "But my manager and my publicists, they was like, 'F**k it. You just gotta keep on going.' And I did, and I did, and I did, and I'm here."
