On Wednesdayās āThe View,ā the co-hosts discussed the Kevin Hart cheating scandal. As Gossip Cop reported, Hart apologized to his wife, Eniko Parrish, after it was revealed he was being extorted over an alleged sex tape. Watch the video below.
While Hart didnāt specifically say he cheated, he told fans, āI made a bad error in judgment and put my myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did.ā A photo circulating online shows the actor sitting inappropriately close with a woman later identified as Montia Sabbag. At issue is an alleged video of the pair, in which a man said to resemble Hart appears naked. Hartās camp maintains people wanted hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars, to keep the footage under wraps. They contacted the FBI, which is investigating whether Sabbag or someone else is behind the attempted extortion.
Now on the ABC talk show, which aired just before Sabbag was expected to hold a press conference, Whoopi Goldberg brought up the scandal, noting that Hart also cheated on his first wife, Torrei, who has openly complained about being used in his stand-up acts. āBut donāt comedians use their life experiences in their acts?ā asked Sunny Hostin. āI mean, she married a comedian. I donāt know if itās off-limits to talk about your ex. And he also, I mean, Iāve seen a lot of his stand-up. He also sort of just admitted to bad behavior [and] said he was a jerk in his first marriage.ā
Sara Haines said, āThe jokes are funny, but the one caveat would be is they do have kids and those are recorded. You see them again. As an adult not emotionally-attached to him, I found the jokes funny, but his kids watching, thatās their mom.ā Joy Behar, a comedienne herself, shared, āMy kids said do not talk about me in your act and I never do. I donāt have permission to do material about her life. Itās not fair, really. And I think that thereās a line that you cross sometimes when you talk about people you were married toā¦ I donāt want to put my [ex-husband] down. Whatās the point? To get a laugh? Thereās other things to get laughs off.ā
As for the cheating aspect, Hostin said of the timing of the end of Hartās first marriage and his relationship with Parrish, āThe math doesnāt quite add up. Then people are saying, well, thatās what she gets. You lose them how you got them.ā And Behar, noting that Parrish and Torrei have feuded, said of Hartās current wife, āShe was saying the first wife should stop acting like a victim. Donāt spit up in the air, it comes back in your face. Now youāre the victim of the infidelity, so keep your [mouth] shut.ā Still, of the saying āonce a cheater, always a cheater,ā Hostin admitted, āI donāt know if I believe that.ā
āYou act different ways in different relationships,ā she argued, asking, āDoes that mean heās always going to be this cheater?ā Behar said thereās two type of cheaters: The one who is unhappy in a relationship and the one who just ācats around all the timeā regardless. āThe second one is a serial cheater,ā she pointed out. And when Hostin said, āI think you can cheat and not do it again,ā Behar agreed, āJust once? Cāmon, people make mistakes. I bet this whole audience has at least fantasized about cheating.ā
Interestingly, Goldberg didnāt give her opinion at all. Check out the video below.
