Cleveland Rock and Roll icon Michael Stanley has passed away. He died Friday in his sleep at the age of 72.
Stanley had been battling lung cancer. Stanley headlined the Michael Stanley Band which became the biggest local act in Cleveland during the 1970's and 1980's as they set attendance records at the old Richfield Coliseum, Blossom Music center and the Front Row Theater.
Stanley continued performing after the band broke up and also served as the afternoon drive host on WNCX Radio for the past 31 years.
