Lamorne Morris Says He Would Do A 'New Girl' Reunion Right Now

There's been so much TV reunion news the last few weeks. From sitcoms like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends to dramas The West Wing, the casts of a number of beloved shows have made plans to reunite for both scripted and unscripted specials.

Over the past few months of COVID-19, New Girl has become something of a sensation on Netflix. As new fans discover the FOX sitcom, many of the show's stars are talking about coming together for a scripted reunion. If it were up to Lamorne Morris, he'd reunite with Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Hannah Simone right now.

"I would love to do it now," Morris told Glamour while promoting his new Hulu original series Woke. "We’re seeing a reemergence of New Girl on Netflix. It’s booming. I’m getting almost as many messages aboutNew Girlnow than I was when the show was on. So if we were to do a reunion, I would love to. I don’t know if it’s a one-off episode, a movie, a shortened season...I have no idea. But it’s a small cast, so I think we could adhere to the quarantine and social distancing rules perfectly fine. I think it would be fun, actually!"

Morris' comments come shortly after Johnson also spoke about his interest in getting the New Girl cast together again. "Hannah Simone and I were texting two nights ago. Zooey and I still text. The guys and I are on a text chain," Johnson said on a podcast appearance. "Everybody's still linked up, so I would be surprised if there's not some sort of a thing at some point where everybody comes back."

He echoed these sentiments while chatting with Entertainment Weekly, as well, saying: "I love the cast of New Girl. My thing is when I work with people and I like it, I like to do it again, so, for me, it’s just an opportunity to see a friend who is really talented."
