Megan Thee Stallion Helps Surprise Frontline Nurse, Mother Of 5 With $50K

Megan Thee Stallion presented a frontline nurse with the sweetest surprise!

During Thursday’s (February 4) virtual guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the “Savage” rapper presented fellow academic and mother of five Jamelmenique Hoy with a jaw-dropping $50,000 via Shutterfly to help pay off her student loan debt.

The thoughtful moment came after Ellen DeGeneres held Meg offscreen and on standby as she welcomed an elated Hoy on the big screen, introducing her as a “hero.”

In the clip, Hoy and her husband Michael join the call from their couch alongside their five adorable sons — Micah, 2, Mason, 3, Messiah, 4, Malachi, 5, and Michael Jr., 7.

Originally from Mississippi, a teary-eyed Hoy explained that she and her family temporarily deployed to Houston in order for her to volunteer to help treat coronavirus patients. Since making the move in July 2020, however, the family of seven has been living in a one-bedroom hotel for the past six months.

What’s more, Hoy is doing all of this while going to school to earn her master’s degree, a point of empathy for Meg, who also has aspirations of returning back to school to get her bachelor’s degree in health administration.

So when DeGeneres tells Hoy and her family that she has a surprise for them, the “Body” musician couldn’t be more excited to hop on the call with the good news.

"You have a beautiful family!" the Houston native tells Hoy, calling her "super inspiring."

Meg added, “We just need to give you all the praise because, girl, you are putting on for us. And just Black women in general. Thank you so much for everything you’re doing.”

As she wheels in a cart of “room service” sent via Shutterfly from Meg and Degeneres, Hoy is completely overwhelmed with tears of joy by the generous donation.
