McDonald's Will Accept Foreign Currency For Three Hours On This One Day

To celebrate the launch of its Worldwide Favorites Menu in the United States, McDonald's is doing something pretty cool. On Thursday (June 6), McDonald's restaurants will accept foreign currency as payment from customers hoping to try the tasty new menu items.

While this promotion is exciting (and affordable!), there is a catch. McDonald's will only accept foreign currency for three hours (2:00pm-5:00pm) this Thursday and your euros, yen, pounds, etc are only good for four menu items. Those menu items, unsurprisingly, are from the Worldwide Favorites Menu. They are: the Stroopwafel McFlurry from the Netherlands, theย Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain, theย Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich from Canada and theย Cheesy Bacon Fries from Australia. Who else is already drooling?

The best part? You can give any amount of foreign currency in exchange for one of these menu items. Yes, you can literally fork over a 1 cent euro coin for a Stroopwafel McFlurry. Don't expect to get all four menu items for that, though: it's an even exchange. One piece of currency for one menu item. Choose wisely.

The Worldwide Favorites Menu *officially* hits McDonald's on Friday (June 5) and will remain available for a limited time. โ€œWe know our U.S. customers are curious about McDonaldโ€™s international menu items. Because we are always innovating our menu, we are thrilled to leverage our global scale and offer popular flavors from around the world next month,โ€ McDonald's Vice President of Menu Innovation, Linda VanGosen, said in a press release. โ€œWe are committed to creating everyday feel-good moments for customers no matter what McDonaldโ€™s restaurant they walk into anywhere in the world.โ€
