I LOVE VAN HALEN. I cut my teeth as an 8-year old punk ass kid on Diamond David Lee Roth's Van Halen. That being said, I totally go both ways in loving Diamond Dave AND Sammy Hagar with VH. All of that to say I am not sure what to think about Dave's new version of You Really Got Me. That song, to me, only belongs in the stable of Van Halen songs, those 4 bad ass musicians, that era and no where else. It's quirky, familiar riffs are kind of cool but knowing that guitar isn't from EVH with Dave singing along to it, Michael Anthony crushing it on his bass with Alex on drums, makes me not want to like it. You tell me!
